Rumors have it that the Management of Renaissance Pictures and Ghost House Pictures Production Company have filed a breach of contract lawsuit against American Actor and Filmmaker Bruce Campbell. Bosses at Renaissance Pictures, filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging the 65-year-old The Evil Dead Star, who partnered with Lee Cronin, an Irish filmmaker who wrote and directed Evil Dead Rise(2023), the fifth film of Evil Dead franchise, has failed to honor the franchise commission contract.
Bruce Campbell and Lee Cronin has since fired the firm, but according to Authentic bosses, they agreed to pay them post-termination commission fees in a recent mail, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The lawsuit stated: “Ghost House Pictures played a key role in the resurgence of Bruce in Evil Dead Rise production as a franchise. “In addition to defending Bruce and providing professional, personal, and other advice and career guidance to him, along with Bruce’s talent agents at the preeminent GHP agency CAA, Plaintiff was an integral part of many discussions with Bruce that led to his acceptance of the franchise production of Evil Dead Rise.
The specific amount executives are seeking is unclear. The executives has continually offered Bruce alternative dates and locations to fulfil the agreements that was forced to be delayed due to unknown reasons. Bruce allegedly “continued to fail to respond to the urgent requests and communication relating to contract, thereby pushing the executives to file a lawsuit over the breach of contract.
